The Iron Blosam Lodge is named after a historic Little Cottonwood Mining Claim “Iron Blosam,” hence the phonetic spelling. Iron Blosam’s décor in its hallways and elevator lobbies display historic mining artifacts and vintage skis. Iron Blosam was fully opened in the fall of 1975, although there was some occupancy during final phases of construction in 1974.

Iron Blosam was one of the first time share properties in the world and was the first timeshare development in a ski area in North America. The Iron Blosam has been extensively remodeled and upgraded with the most recent room renovation being completed in 2004.

Iron Blosam is a fixed week Saturday to Saturday timeshare property. Rental units are available through the Owners Rental pool. Reservations for timeshare unit rentals are booked through Snowbird Central Reservations.

Rental guests booking through a Saturday will be required to change rooms due to the fix week ownership at Iron Blosam.

The Iron Blosam spa consists of a heated outdoor pool, indoor hot tub, steam room and exercise room and men’s and women’s dry sauna. Massage services are available on site during the winter season. The winter season indoor hot tub, weight room and steam room are restricted to guests and owners 16 and over.

During summer months the Iron Blosam opens a second family pool and toddler pool. The spa area is the same offering in the summer however the age limit for the spa is increased to 18 and over. During summer months, the Iron Blosam offers an outstanding recreation program with many special activities for kids as well as a video arcade.

Iron Blosam offers a complimentary beverage service by the locker room area during the ski season. Free copies of the USA Today are available at the Front Desk while supplies last. (winter season only)

Specialty items to assist physically challenged guests are available upon requests.

Complimentary wireless internet access is available in lobby areas of 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors and Wildflower Lounge. A business center with limited complimentary computer time and fax services also are available.

All rooms have coffee makers, Irons and Ironing Boards. DVD/VCR players. Check out items to supplement your kitchen inventory, CD players, blenders crock pots and other specialty items are available for check out from the Housekeeping Office.

Lift tickets are sold daily from 8:30 a.m .until 1 p.m. Monday evenings we host a social for all owners and guests, which includes wine, non-alcoholic punch, cheese and treats.

Iron Blosam is a short walk to the Wilbere Ski Lift. The resort shuttle services also drops guests minutes away from the lodge. Bell Service also supplements shuttle service to assist guests with small children to get to Camp Snowbird and Mountain School locations at the Cliff Lodge. Resort and Bell staff also provide resort shuttle services in evenings for guests to visit different area restaurants.

The Iron Blosam Lodge offers 16 different floor plans with units that range from hotel units with two queen beds, a small refrigerator and coffee maker. Studio units have complete kitchens fully equipped with all amenities and utensils, gas fireplaces and mountain view balconies. Studios only sleep two with a queen size sofa bed. All studios have the ability to have an adjoining bedroom. Efficiency units that have full kitchens and sleeping for four. Efficiency units have a double wall bed and queen sofa bed. North side efficiencies have standard queen bed and queen sofa bed. Loft suites that sleep up to eight with two queen beds in an upstairs loft, each level has its own bath. Downstairs areas have full kitchen, gas fireplace and the living area converts to sleeping for another four persons with a sleeper sofa and wall bed.
